Feminationalism

Feminationalism or femonationalism is a word for an ideology that brings together nationalism and feminism or women's rights. It was proposed first in 2012 by an Italian professor Sara R. Farris. It describes an adaptation of nationalist ideology, where it also considers women's rights (such as freedom of dress or the ability to make decisions independently of their husbands or religion) as part of what makes a nation great. Because of that, it also sees outside groups (such as immigrants, especially Muslims) as a threat to these rights and to the nation. Farris, as someone who is against feminationalism, thinks that this ideology is used mostly to attack immigrants, while at the same time ignoring issues that women still face in Western countries.
