"Heart-Shaped Box" is a song by the American grunge band Nirvana. It was written by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain. It was released on August 30, 1993 as the first single from their third studio album In Utero.
Cobain's wife Courtney Love thought the song was about her, although it was actually written about children with cancer.
