Lutzingen (Swabian German: Lutziga) is a municipality in the district of Dillingen in Bavaria in Germany. The town is a member of the municipal association Höchstädt an der Donau.
Lutzingen is located in the Augsburg region, not to be confused with the district of Augsburg.
The municipality consists of the villages of Lutzingen and Unterliezheim.
The present-day village of Unterliezheim, together with Unterliezheim Abbey, was first mentioned in written records in 1026 as Liedeshiem. Lutzingen was first mentioned in 1250. At that time, it had long belonged to the Duchy of Neuburg-Sulzbach and to the judicial district of Höchstädt.
In 1703 and 1704, Lutzingen was seriously affected by the battles of Höchstädt and Blenheim during the War of the Spanish Succession. In 1777, it came under the jurisdiction of the Electorate of Bavaria. In 1808, Lutzingen became part of the present municipal administrative system following the new municipal edict of the Kingdom of Bavaria.
