The city is found on the Lisburne Peninsula, along the coast of Chukchi Sea, above the Arctic Circle. At the 2020 census, 830 people lived there. There are no roads or railways going to the city, and can only be traveled to by airplane to Point Hope Airport, or maybe a boat.
