The Round Rock Express are a Minor League Baseball team from Round Rock, Texas. They play baseball at the Triple-A (AAA) level, the most difficult level before Major League Baseball, against other baseball teams in the Pacific Coast League (a group of 10 baseball teams at the same level). The Express are partnered with the Texas Rangers, a Major League Baseball team. When a player shows that he plays well at this level, he may be moved up to play for the Rangers.
The team started playing baseball in 2000 at the Double-A level, the second-most difficult level before Major League Baseball, in the Texas League. They moved to the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 2005. The team is named for Baseball Hall of Famer and Texas native Nolan Ryan, who was nicknamed "The Ryan Express."
The Express have played at a stadium called the Dell Diamond since 2000.
