Whiting is a city in the US state of Indiana. The city is in Lake County on the southern shore of Lake Michigan. It is a part of the Chicago Metropolitan District. There were 4,559 people living in Whiting according to the 2020 United States Census.
The city is home to the Whiting Refinery. This is the biggest oil refinery in the Midwest.
