2027 UFL draft

The 2027 UFL draft is a selection of rookies eligible for the 2027 NFL Draft as well as players from 2023-2026 NFL Draft prior to the 2027 UFL season.

History

The 2024 UFL draft had largely been unsuccessful, as it was restricted to rookie players who had gone undrafted in that year's NFL Draft and most of the drafted players refused to sign with the UFL. To address this, the league indicated plans to hold the 2025 draft in September 2025, after NFL rosters and practice squads were set, to better assess who was actually available and would be realistically willing to sign. By summer 2025, with continued uncertainty about which teams would still be in the UFL and where they would be playing, this draft was indefinitely suspended. The 2027 draft will be the UFL's first non-dispersal draft since 2024. This will also be the first time the UFL will stream a draft and the first time a spring football draft was televised.

Structure

The draft will consist of 15 total rounds. The first two rounds will be televised on NFL Network. The selection order is determined by the reverse of the 2026 UFL standings. The Columbus Aviators hold the first overall pick in the draft, Colorado, Dallas, and Rhode Island will rotate their draft position based on tie-breakers as they finished with the same final record. Each team will have three minutes to make each of their selections during the televised portion of the draft. Teams can select players at any position, pass on a single round selection, or opt out of the draft at any point. Trades are only allowed for current UFL players or picks in this year’s draft. Future picks cannot be traded.

The UFL Draft pool will include rookies eligible for the 2027 NFL Draft as well as players from 2023-2026 NFL Draft eligible classes who have been on an NFL roster at any point since the United Bowl Championship Game.
