Creotech Instruments carries out programmes in areas including Earth observation for military and dual-use purposes, space situational awareness, in-orbit satellite operations, navigation system resilience, and the rapid deployment and restoration of space capabilities.
The company operates its own electronics manufacturing facilities and infrastructure for small satellite integration. Its electronics assembly processes have been authorised by the European Space Agency (ESA) in accordance with ECSS standards. Its HyperSat satellite platform is designed for Earth observation, scientific and communications missions.
The company was established in 2012 following the transformation of Creotech Sp. z o.o., which had been founded by scientists associated with CERN. In 2013, the company began its first project for the European Space Agency, involving the production of electronic components for the ASIM experiment. In 2014, it established its own electronic production line, including clean rooms facilities. In the same year, the Polish Industrial Development Agency (ARP S.A.) became a strategic investor in the company.
In 2015, Creotech Instruments became the lead organisation of a consortium conducting Phase 0/A of the SAT-AIS-PL microsatellite project for ESA. The company also began developing control and measurement systems for large-scale scientific experiments, including projects involving CERN, DESY, JINR and BNL. In 2016, the company began developing cloud infrastructure for storing and processing satellite data from the Copernicus programme, which was subsequently developed into the CreoDIAS platform.
In 2017, the company began developing its proprietary HyperSat microsatellite platform, in collaboration with Polish research institutions, including the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2019, Creotech Instruments established a partnership with the US company Maxar Technologies to provide access to satellite imagery through the CreoDIAS platform.
In 2020, the company entered into a partnership with the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency concerning unmanned aerial vehicle traffic monitoring systems. In 2021, Creotech Instruments made its debut on the NewConnect market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In 2022, its shares were transferred to the Main Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In 2024, Creotech Instruments' EagleEye demonstration satellite, built on its proprietary HyperSat platform, was launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket operated by the American company SpaceX. At the time of its launch, EagleEye was the largest satellite developed in Poland. In the same year, ESA selected Creotech Instruments to participate in the development of the Plasma Observatory mission. The HyperSat platform was also selected by the German company OHB System AG for an in-orbit satellite refuelling project supported by ESA. In 2024, the company was included in the Warsaw Stock Exchange’s sWIG80 index.

In December 2024, the Polish Armaments Agency signed a contract with Creotech Instruments for the development and delivery of a satellite Earth observation system comprising four microsatellites as part of the Mikroglob programme. The satellites are based on the HyperSat platform.
In 2025, Creotech Instruments signed a contract with ESA for the CAMILA (Country Awareness Mission in Land Analysis) project. The project involves the development of a Polish Earth observation satellite constellation, including the construction of satellites, ground infrastructure, launch arrangements and in-orbit mission operations. The contract was subsequently expanded to include a fourth satellite. The CAMILA project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2029.
In April 2025, the management board decided to reorganise the company’s structure by separating two business segments into independed entities. In May 2025, Creotech Geo P.S.A. was established to focus on drone and satellite application, including UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) systems. Creotech Quantum S.A. was also established to take over the quantum technology segment. The spin-off process was completed on April 1, 2026, following its registration in the National Court Register. On 17 April 2026, Creotech Quantum S.A. made its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange as an independent company.
As part of the SZAFIR program, funded by the National Center for Research and Development and initiated by the Polish Ministry of National Defense, Creotech Instruments joined a consortium implementing the PIAST (Polish ImAging SaTellites) project, led by the Military University of Technology. A constellation of three microsatellites based on the HyperSat platform was launched into orbit in November 2025. The PIAST satellites have transmitted images of the Earth’s surface from orbit. The PIAST, Mikroglob, and CAMILA projects contribute to the development of Poland's satellite Earth observation capabilities.
In late 2025, Creotech Instruments signed a contract with ESA to serve as the prime contractor for Phase A of the Twardowski mission. The proposed mission involves placing a satellite based on the HyperSat platform into lunar orbit. Creotech Instruments had previously participated in preparatory work for the mission.
In May 2026, Creotech Instruments announced its development strategy through 2029, outlining plans to become one of the four largest space mission integrators in Europe. In July 2026, the first satellite of the Mikroglob system, Mikroglob-1 (also known as PIRX-1), was launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-17 rideshare mission. Shortly after launch, Creotech Instruments reported establishing two-way communication with the satellite and receiving telemetry from its subsystems, and began its commissioning phase.
In September 2026, Creotech Instruments signed a €13.9 million contract with the European Space Agency for the SAWA (2nd Space Weather Nanosat) mission, covering phases B - E, following a preliminary studies conducted in 2025. The company serves as prime contractor, responsible for building the satellite on its HyperSat platform, system integration and in-orbit mission operations. The satellite, which will monitor space weather in low Earth orbit as part of ESA's Distributed Space Weather Sensor System (D3S), is scheduled for launch in early 2029.
In October 2026, the remaining three satellites, Mikroglob-2, Mikroglob-3 and Mikroglob-4, were launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-18 rideshare mission, placing the full four satellite constellation in orbit. Following separation from the launch vehicle, Creotech Instruments established two-way communication with all three satellites, received telemetry data and began the commissioning phase. In October 2026, the company also published the first Earth images taken by Mikroglob-1. The project is co-financed by Poland's National Recovery Plan.
