Vejprnice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈvɛjpr̩ɲɪtsɛ]) is a municipality and village in Plzeň-North District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,700 inhabitants.
The initial name of the settlement was Ojprnice. There is a theory that the name was derived from the personal name Ojprn/Ojprna, but the existence of such a name has not been proven and probably has a basis in a foreign language. Until the 16th century, the settlement's name was also spelled as Oprnice, Ejprnice and Eprnice. The form Vejprnice was first used in 1523.
Vejprnice is located about 7 kilometres (4 mi) west of Plzeň. It lies in the Plasy Uplands, in a relatively flat landscape. The stream Vejprnický potok flows through the municipality.
The first written mention of Vejprnice is in the foundation deed of the Břevnov Monastery from 993. A fortress in Vejprnice was first documented in 1318. Thanks to its proximity to Plzeň, the municipality experienced rapid development in recent decades.
