Kissing number

Temporary pending changes: Persistent disruptive editing – During this period AI impact on math, we should be sure that any changes to the upper and lower bounds on kissing numbers are made only if accompanied citations of peer-reviewed, non-primary sources, not Claude-generated results self-published via GitHub. There should be protection of mathematical results listed on Wikipedia such as these until we can get a better handle on the effect of AI on mathematical communication. 1101 (talk) 01:26, 30 October 2026 (UTC)

Tagine

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – WP:NATIONALIST editing from new users has continued to be an issue on this page since the early 2026 temporary protection. I propose an indefinite page protection so the page can get some constructive work done regarding the national origin, for example building on the work at Talk:Tagine#National_origin_of_dish. — Chickenpox4dinner (talk · contribs · email) 03:39, 30 October 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. These edits come in bursts, disruption is not heavy enough to warrant semi-protection. What keeps you from getting constructivee work done? Lectonar (talk) 08:31, 30 October 2026 (UTC)

Darline Graham

Reason: Vandalism Iandaandi (talk) 05:45, 30 October 2026 (UTC)

It's not vandalism. Similar language is used for Joe Biden. I'm happy to talk to you. ~2026-57793-46 (talk) 05:47, 30 October 2026 (UTC)
"Graham has faced chronically low approval ratings after repeated news reports and an admittance about being "not that informed" on national security issues led to concerns about her background, independence in judgement, and intellectual capacity.
Graham was mocked for her performance in a primary debate with Norman on August 18. Graham had difficulty responding to questions about national security and confessed that "national security is not my thing". When asked during the Republican primary about the potential national security issues related to the South China Sea and Taiwan, she said "I'm not that informed on national security, so — but I do support the military and that "Of course, Taiwan is our friend. But I think people in South Carolina are more worried about boys in girls sports." The responses received viral mockery on social media.
Later, Graham announced opposition to universal healthcare coverage by relating it to her upbringing, and that her "parents worked long, hard hours. If they were sick, they had to get up and go to work. My mother passed away when I was 11 and my father just over a year later". Early deaths caused by poverty is a common justification for universal healthcare."
1 2 3 4 for starters.
Slate called her a "gaffe machine". (like Biden)
There's scientific polling from the nytimes and wapo and local media also about it.
I openly said I'm 'okay' with changing the language, but the scrubbing is wrong. ~2026-57793-46 (talk) 05:51, 30 October 2026 (UTC)
i also changed it back to the original and gave an explanation. i wasn't vandalizing. i just don't see why we wouldn't add it when Biden's page (go to "Public Image") also reference those who make frequent gaffes and/or have concerns about it. it never said that people should agree or disagree with it. it's just been a primary part of her reputation since tenure. ~2026-57793-46 (talk) 06:01, 30 October 2026 (UTC)
and for William Scott: "During his congressional service, Scott made headlines over frequent allegations of incompetence..." the language is used all the time for politicians in front intros. ~2026-57793-46 (talk) 06:03, 30 October 2026 (UTC)
