Titles of contemporary persons who merely use the title as a consistent and de facto part of their surname are not translated in Wikipedia. This topic has been discussed in a previous multi-RM in 2023. Joe vom Titan (talk) 17:33, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
Titles of contemporary persons who merely use the title as a consistent and de facto part of their surname are not translated in Wikipedia, e.g. Otto Graf Lambsdorff. This German-language word (not the English form) appears in the headword as if it were a regular surname.Joe vom Titan (talk) 22:14, 16 October 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. a revert is clearly not uncontroversial", which is utterly gob-smacking! The editor (who fun fact was blocked twice for WP system gaming and disruption and has a history of barely gaining communal support for actions) enacted an RM to change the title of the parent article of the titles above to use its current name. After it closed as moved, the editor boldly (but incorrectly) moved these titles to have "Golden Globes" in them, despite the article contents, cited sources and official event posters in those articles showing otherwise. I can't fathom how controversial this is when the editor himself/herself is controversial, not to talk of his/her statements, pronunciations and actions. an article about a ship not known to have a prefix should use only the ship's name, if that name is unambiguous. While the Department of Transport Formal Investigation used MV on a few (but not most) occasions, most cites, both from the time of the incident and those published more recently, describe the vessel without a prefix e.g. *BBC News *Channel 4 News *Irish Times *Ships Monthly *Sydney Morning Herald *The Guardian *The Herald Journal *The Independent *The Daily Telegraph . The spelling that reflects the majority of items on the page is preferred to less common alternatives. Seven of the 11 entries use "Mandingo". For several entries, "Mandingo", "Mandinka", and other terms are synonymous. However, the page also contains at least five entries which are only ever referred to as "Mandingo": three titles of published works, the racist stereotype, and so-called "mandingo fights" which are depicted in the film Django Unchained. —Myceteae🍄🟫 (talk) 01:37, 19 October 2026 (UTC)

Where further disambiguation is required, the local government area name is used in parentheses following the state name, which is meant to disambiguate local government areas, but ", Queensland" is unnecessary because there's no Southern Moreton Bay Islands anywhere else in the world to warrant Southern Moreton Bay Islands, Queensland (Gold Coast), analogous to something like Cedar Creek, New South Wales (Tweed). WP:NCAUST also does not require disambiguation for a primary or only topic, unlike WP:USPLACE, but technically this doesn't apply to natural geographic features as the Redland City one appears to only be a natural geographic feature.
