A central discussion on proposals for a format (or various formats) for articles related to organizations can be found here .
Article talk pages may include the following templates:

Year established . format [[ Category:Organizations established in YYYY ]] example Category:Organizations established in 1990 . (Tree is in Category:Organizations by year of establishment .)

If an appropriate, more geographically-specific category exists, use that one.
Subject - A subject category (e.g., Category:Scientific organizations ). Browse the tree at Category:Organizations by subject .
Note : There are some combined subject/country categories, e.g., Category:Environmental organisations based in the United Kingdom ). Browse Category:Organizations by subject and country .
If applicable or known, an activity category (e.g., Category:Research organizations ). Browse the tree at Category:Organizations by activity . (If an organization has many different activities it may not be appropriate to categorize by activity.)
If applicable or known, a "legal status or organizational structure" category (e.g., Category:Non-profit organizations ). Browse the category at Category:Organizations by legal status .
