Hollon vanhemmat olivat Helsingin yliopiston professori, esseisti ja kääntäjä J. A. Hollo (1885–1967) ja Riiassa syntynyt musiikinopettaja ja kääntäjä Iris Walden.
Hollo käänsi suomalaisten nykykirjailijoiden tuotantoa, kuten Paavo Haavikon, Pentti Saarikosken, Mirkka Rekolan, Lauri Otonkosken, Antti Tuurin ja Rosa Liksomin. Hollo julkaisi 35 runoteosta. Hänen runoutensa sai vahvoja vaikutteita amerikkalaisilta beat-runoilijoilta.
