A Copiula nem valószínűleg nem alkot monofiletikus csoportot. Néhány korábbi Austrochaperina fajt már ebbe a nembe helyeztek át, melyeket továbbiak követhetnek, amint ezt újabb adatok megerősítik.

Előfordulásuk

A nembe tartozó fajok Új-Guinea endemikus fajai. Avarlakók.
