Katherine Chi Tai (born March 18, 1974) is an American lawyer and politician. She was the 19th United States Trade Representative from March 18, 2021 until January 20, 2025. Tai is a member of the Democratic Party.

She was the chief trade counsel for the United States House Committee on Ways and Means.

In December 2020, Tai was nominated by then President-elect Joe Biden to serve as United States Trade Representative. She was confirmed by the United States Senate with a 98-0 vote on March 17, 2021.
