The 2026 United States House of Representatives elections in California will be held on November 3, 2026, to elect the 52 U.S. representatives from the state of California, one from each of the state's congressional districts. The elections will coincide with other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate, and various state and local elections. The passage of Proposition 50 in 2025 significantly altered many districts. The primary elections took place on June 2, 2026.

Campaign

Although Gomez is part of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, his acceptance of funding from the cryptocurrency industry and from American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) led most progressive organizations to instead endorse Gonzales-Torres in the primary and general, including the Justice Democrats, Our Revolution, the California Working Families Party and Los Angeles Democratic Socialists of America.

In August, the House Ethics Committee began an inquiry into whether Gomez had engaged in sexual misconduct. The inquiry followed one into Eric Swalwell, with whom Gomez was personal friends and who had appointed Gomez chair of his Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign before Swalwell suspended the campaign and resigned from Congress amid criminal investigations into alleged rape and sexual misconduct. One former Gomez staffer accused him of sexual assault. Gomez denied any nonconsensual conduct and said that he had made personal mistakes outside his marriage. Gonzales-Torres criticized a "culture in Congress in which men abuse women" and said Gomez should withdraw.
