This pool is now kept here for historical purposes only. The millionth article has already been certified; it is Jordanhill railway station.
This is a non-serious pool for predicting the title of the millionth article (as defined by the official article count presented on the Special:statistics, and determined by the powers that be) in the English Wikipedia. The person who comes closest to the actual topic is the winner (bonus points for guessing the exact title). The current number of articles in the English Wikipedia is 7,256,896. This poll closed when the 995,000th article was created.
That is a festival among some inshore fishing villages to commemorate the arrival of their dredger-submarine. The name refers to the noise made as it stows away a bunch of shellfish-poaching scuba divers in its dredgings tank ready for disposal.:-)
Being anonymous ruins the whole "heh heh we're pretending any of us actually can win this thing" common internal joke! --Unknownwarrior33 01:18, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
I wrote the article and I was going to submit it as the millionth article (so the anon would win), but I missed the deadline. Oh well. Now we have a list of famous rocks. BrokenSegue 03:00, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Guys, its over, give up (South Park episode), an episode of South Park where the kids confront Terrance and Phillip for turning their beloved show into a sounding board for whatever topic is pissing them off this week, thereby resulting in episodes that are no longer funny or charming and become hopelessly dated in less than a month. St. Mary's School I'm putting all my bets on education: this entry gets 2,710,000 google hits. Of course the real article will have (Lodi, NJ) or something as part of the title-- do I still win? -- Mwanner 17:37, May 22, 2005 (UTC)
Not if you use double quotes around your search, as you should do. "Sacred heart school" gets 86500 hits... Fram 10:55, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
John Smith (Asst. Prof.)John Smith Asst. Prof. only gets 94,000 google hits, but I figure average professors are likely to get past the deletionists in higher proportions than elementary and secondary schools -- Mwanner 17:37, May 22, 2005 (UTC)

Alas, this one's already been done, with a name like "List of all lists which do not refer to themselves"; the server stubbornly refused to blow up -- well, no more than usual, anyway. -- The Anome 07:59, Apr 14, 2005 (UTC)
If you take it as a normal polynomic equation, as you seem to have done, that should be "only if N=1". "P=NP" is false if N is 0 and P is not 0. But what "P=NP" usually refers to is more complex, see Complexity classes P and NP. —JIP | Talk 11:02, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
List of people alive in the world today. The article will consist of five red links, but once it hits AfD, the author will write twelve paragraphs on why it should be kept. Doctor Whom 18:09, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
You can bet she'll be at the 2008 Olympics but her definition of competition is quite different if you know what I mean. Douglasr007 23:48, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

List of mobile phones longer than half an inch (and in a time where our kids won't even know that people in the 1980s and early 1990s used mobiles like housebricks, and when the size of microchips are not measured in nanometres but rather in attometres, this list will be tiny). List of deleted Wikipedias - Because some are already on the way to being deleted, and someone will get the bright idea to cut costs by deleting 'not notable' languages from Wikipedia's purview. Almafeta
Some junk article that is going to end up AFD'd or WP:CSD'd. You'll see!!!! Titoxd 23:01, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
The millionth article will be a type of vandalism, it will be deleted, but literally, that will be the millionth article. I guess something that would go for Speedy deletion, like a stupid n-n bio. Encyclopedist (talk) 16:50, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
I'm so going to be on Wikipedia as it reaches 999,999 articles, then reload the page. The Main Page will then say that they have 2,574,953 articles because so many people will be trying to make the millionth topic. OneofThem 00:46, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia:StoppingMillionthPageControversy or basically a page put up so people wouldn't debate or complain over the millionth page. They probably have something like that in a program to automatically create itself after the 999,999th new page.--Unknownwarrior33 23:44, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
