Welcome to WikiProject Sicily, focusing on all matters relating to Sicily.Flag of Sicily
WikiProject Sicily is attempting to fill in the many gaps relevant to Sicily's political structures, history, geography and culture and the related biographies of Sicilians. We would be most pleased if you could join us! Ni dassi assai piaciri siddu ni putissi junciri!
Scour personal (and public) libraries for potential material to create articles on all matters Sicilian (allowing for all copyright laws and proper referencing).
Creation of all necessary templates, including Sicilian municipalities and other project related templates.
Messages sent to authors who have previously edited Sicilian related articles.
Scour existing Sicilian related articles for red links, add to correct sub-category below, may even need to create further sub-categories.
This list needs to be anglicised where necessary, otherwise it makes sense to go with the official Italian name, but including the main Sicilian variants in the actual article. We may need a Sicilian municipality template - no - we have decided to run with the general template used for Italian cities - please follow use of categories as described in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Sicily/List_of_Sicilian_municipalities.
Other subjects related to Sicily and Sicilians (La Sicilia e li siciliani)
Much of what follows is still in the original Italian or Sicilian. Many titles might stay the same, others will definitely need to be anglicised. Many blue links have been left because they all need to be looked at, be they stubs or not. As articles begin to look complete, they can be deleted from this project page.
Cities renowned for their art, architecture and historical treasures: Noto, Cefalù, Monreale, Piazza Armerina Norman Cathedral in Palermo Bagheria, museum of paintings by Renato Gutozzo; hometown of film director Giuseppe Tornatore and the setting for his award winning Cinema Paradisio; the Palazzo Palagonia(to be completed)
