Boxing career

Inspired by Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali), Aderemi joined DBAKOSO Boxing Promotion in 1978 and fought at Atiba Hall, Oyo Township, Ogbomoso and Akure. The bouts featured seasoned pugilists including Hogan Jimoh, Lati Darason (Fela Kuti band member), Samson Popoola, Mighty Dodo and Alimi Dodo, his sparring partner.

During one Atiba Hall bout, he engaged in a brief sparring session with Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo, as a mark of inspiration. Ref: Sketch Newspapers, August 1978. Boxing remained an unfulfilled ambition due to his father's opposition to boxing as a career.

Acting career

Aderemi's flair for acting was exhibited at Ansar-Ur-Deen Primary School, Lawanson, where he performed as Sango in the school's valedictory service in 1978, inspired by Duro Ladipo (Oba Koso).

He later acted as a guest actor with Baba Suwe during secondary school tours. At Pobo Community Grammar School, he participated in debating, cultural and drama groups alongside veteran thespian Doyin Hassan.

While awaiting admission into higher institution, he regularly visited NTA Channel 10, Lagos, where he was exposed to programmes such as Youth Scene, Tales by Moonlight, and The Village Headmaster. He was a crew member of NTA Nifest movie presentation The Reign of Abiku by Tade Ogidan featuring Lanre Balogun and Omotara Sanusi.

He later worked with late Bayo Michael in the pilot production Love Power, playing a lead role as father to Sunny Nneji (Oruka Man).

In 1995, he joined Tenifab Motion Pictures, playing a supporting role as a friend to Gbenga Richards in the movie 7 Days. He was a crew member of Talo Pa Chief featuring Fathia Balogun, Mama Rainbow and Toyin Adegbola – this was the first movie of Fathia Balogun. He also featured in Ta Ni Ole featuring Dele Odule, and played the role of a Lawyer in Arakangudu's Ibukun (1996).

In 1996, he met Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva during the historic stage performance of Oba Ovonramwen at the National Theatre, Lagos.

Later career

Due to conflict between full-time employment, ICAN tutorial school for his professional accounting course, and drama locations, he left acting to pursue a career in accounting. He currently serves as Chairman, Board of Trustees, Olubodun Idi-Ogungun Family, Kanike, Ibadanland.
