Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Pilots

This page is currently inactive and is retained for historical reference.
Either the page is no longer relevant or consensus on its purpose has become unclear. To revive discussion, seek broader input via a forum such as the village pump. This is part of a defunct wikiproject to redesign the layout of wikiprojects themselves. The material here probably accurately describes legacy code where it is still in use, but is not instructional material for what to do with extant wikiprojects. It was last substantively updated 16 July 2015‎.

Volunteer your WikiProject for pilot testing! We will notify the project's talk page if it has been selected for pilot testing.

I am not sure how much time I can devote to testing and implementation, but I started the following projects and am curious to see if any new ideas or tools could be helpful: Grammy Awards task force (for WikiProject Awards and prizes), Oregon Arts Project, Wiki Loves Pride (2014), WikiProject Björk, WikiProject Cannabis, WikiProject Rufus Wainwright. Needless to say, most of these projects were created years ago and are pretty inactive at the moment, or used predominantly for my own note taking. Feel free to use them to test new concepts, if it helps. ---Another Believer _(Talk) 23:15, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject G.I. Joe could use some new blood, as it is basically just me at this point. I also recently helped create a couple new film task forces that would welcome new members! Fortdj33 (talk) 17:04, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

WikiProject Food and drink would benefit from revitalization through the acquisition of more active members. The project's main page and subpages underwent a major layout overhaul in September 2013 which significantly improved the project's organization, so improvement in this area is not necessary. The main concern is a lack of active members. NORTH AMERICA¹⁰⁰⁰ 18:12, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam and Wikipedia:WikiProject Buddhism, along with maybe Wikipedia:WikiProject Religion and Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity and child projects are all projects with a [expletive deleted]-load of articles and comparatively few editors to maintain them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. John Carter (talk) 19:47, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject United States presidential elections is need of new members, as activity has declined in recent years. The project, which seemed to generate a high level of enthusiasm in its early stages, has now become only semi-active.--JayJasper (talk) 19:57, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject Sanitation is new and tiny so far, am curious to see what tools there might be. Am right now struggeling to get the table to work properly that lists the articles by relevance and quality which we have tagged so far. EvM-Susana (talk) 21:25, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

WikiProject Latin music, activity has been fluctuating since last year. We're still a relatively young project (it moved from being a task force to a project in mid 2012) compared to other projects that deals with different music genres. I'd like to add WikiProject Pop music as well since it's a newer project that could use the attention as well. Erick (talk) 03:56, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
I wouldn't mind access to some new tools both to try to revive some projects that run the gambit from "flagging of late" to "just plain mummified", including WP:WikiProject Biology, WP:WikiProject Physiology, WP:WikiProject Psychology, WP:WikiProject Dance, WP:WikiProject Linguistics,WP:WikiProject Human rights, WP:WikiProject Evolution, WP:WikiProject Nonviolence, WP:WikiProject Cognitive science; even WP:WikiProject Science hasn't seen much activity in the last little while. Don't mean to jumpstart all of them on my lonesome, but mass mailer privileges would be useful in particular for these cases, to try to assist coordinators in these spaces (where they aren't MIA themselves) to establish a census of (and generate some baseline discussion between) those editors who are signed up for the project at present. I might also shop said tools around to (relatively) more robust WP:WikiProject Animals, WP:WikiProject History, and WP:WikiProject Tree of Life as well. I'm not sure if those are amongst the tools being referenced here, but if not, I may as well apply through the normal process for those privileges and just keep X appraised of my luck with them. TAFI logo

WikiProject Today's articles for improvement (WP:TAFI) needs help with bot coordination to better-organize content processing (per previous, ongoing talk page discussions, such as archiving the project's nominations to various pages and moving content from and to various pages, etc.). The project would also benefit from more participation. This project had a brief run as a Main page entry circa late April 2013 to late May 2013 (e.g. see this archived talk page discussion) and has potential to become a project that many contribute to, particularly is it were to be reinstated on the Main page, which would keep inertia, participation and interest in the project going. It was removed from Main page due to a processing error that occurred (e.g. see the archived talk page discussions Bot discussion and the discussion following the entry being pulled here). The initial error was quickly resolved through the use of a bot, but we couldn't get it back on Main page after the error at the time. NORTH AMERICA¹⁰⁰⁰ 08:03, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision. Have had some haphazard approaches in recent years and confusions over what Wikipedia is all about. Project reform has been sought in the past.
