A Cryptofilida kis heterotróf amőbák rendje a Cercozoa törzsben. Elágazó vagy el nem ágazó filopódiumai vannak, melyek a szubsztráthoz rögzülnek táplálkozás közben, és nem siklik.

A hagyományos talajkezelés hatásait vizsgáló tanulmányok ökológiai indikátorként mutatták ki.
