Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection).
After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to remove obvious vandalism.
Reason: I'd do this myself, but I'm too involved. I'm requesting indefinite semi-protection; this page has the peculiar problem that the poem seems to be a universal middle-school level English class assignment (certainly, that's where I learned it), and for many years students have been inserting unsourced, poorly sourced, and original research in the "analysis" and "reception" sections. Right now there's a persistent insertion of a section reading "In actual fact, the poem expresses irony..." Reason: Anonymous accounts keep changing Count Dracula's ethnicity and country to Romania and Romanian even though, in Bram Stoker's original 1897 novel, it is clearly established that Dracula explicitly identifies as a proud Székely and descendant of Attila the Hun. In the book, the Székely are considered a different ethnicity while being "kindred" to Magyars, but nowadays in real life they are regarded as an ethnic sub-group of the Hungarian/Magyar people. In his Chapter III monologoue (read in full for context) he talks about his background: “We Szekelys have a right to be proud, for in our veins flows the blood of many brave races who fought as the lion fights, for lordship. [...] Attila, whose blood is in these veins [...] Is it strange that when Arpad and his legions swept through the Hungarian fatherland he found us here when he reached the frontier; that the Honfoglalas was completed there? And when the Hungarian flood swept eastward, the Szekelys were claimed as kindred by the victorious Magyars, and to us for centuries was trusted the guarding of the frontier of Turkey-land [...] Ah, young sir, the Szekelys—and the Dracula as their heart's blood, their brains, and their swords—can boast a record that mushroom growths like the Hapsburgs and the Romanoffs can never reach."
During the late 19th century, when the novel is set, Transylvania was part of the Kingdom of Hungary within Austria-Hungary's dual monarchy. I understand that the character means a lot to some Romanians, especially since Transylvania is part of Romania nowadays, but please don't edit the page just to claim a character as part of your culture when the author didn't mean for him to be. ~2026-57833-71 (talk) 04:18, 31 October 2026 (UTC)

The Houthis are currently listed twice, both as "Yemen (Supreme Political Council)" and as one of the constituents of the "Axis Of Resistance." Either "Yemen (Supreme Political Council)" or "Houthis" under "Axis Of Resistance" should be removed (preferably the former since the SPC has remained unrecognized internationally).
An alternative would be for "Yemen (Supreme Political Council)" under "Axis Of Resistance" and for "Houthis" to be listed under "Yemen (Supreme Political Council)." ~2026-51187-32 (talk) 01:19, 30 October 2026 (UTC)
