Wikimedia noticeboard for requesting protection of pages
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection).
After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to remove obvious vandalism.
Reason: Recent and persistent poorly referenced edits, regarding the premiere date of the television series. Hotwiki (talk) 16:47, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Similar WP:EW, stating that Starz Distribution no longer exists when it still exists since last year. This happened two times. Here and here. --~2026-47089-17 (talk) 21:55, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
Reason: There appears to be an active meme/hoax about No Doubt having a new band member. Whilst no reliable sources confirm this addition (and one purported member appears to be dead), people are making accounts around the internet seeking to perpetuate this hoax. For the time being it would be wise to semi-protect the page. • ꕤ Stylomecon ✎ • «talk» • 00:27, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism; started again shortly after it was lifted. smallest red boy (talk • contribs) 02:07, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Automated comment: One or more pages in this request appear to already be protected. Please confirm.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 03:17, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Indefinite extended confirmed protection:Arbitration enforcement – As in the past, this page has been subject to all sorts of editing from non-extended-confirmed editors. The disruption from unauthorized WP:CT/SA makes it impossible for any kind of consensus or stability for the data. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 03:26, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Rarely any unregistered constructive edits, the vandalism has been happening for 20 years now looking at the page history. MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 04:27, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Per WP:CT/GG–Long-term edit warring over perpetrator's gender identity despite talk page consensus. Sadly, I can't foresee this ever resolving. Giovanni Potage (talk) 05:57, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Indefnite pending-changes: Persistent vandalism from non-autoconfirmed sources–Given the subject matter, this article has long been a routine pit stop for drive-by juvenile trolling on a occasional basis, but not enough to warrant full-blown semi protection. Giovanni Potage (talk) 07:35, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Reason: Semi-protection request for an old IP's user talk page due to vandalism from temporary accounts. 🌻A♭m(Ring!)(Notes) 09:35, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
Change "directly killing 156 civilians, including 120 schoolchildren, 35 adults, and a fetus." to "directly killing 155 civilians, including 120 schoolchildren and 35 adults."
Possibly with the addition "including a pregnant woman", if the sources state that. Surely it is not standard wiki practice to count fetuses as persons in casualty counts. Tsmackinlay (talk) 22:09, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
